Yaghoobi

I’m Amirhossein Yaghoobi and I come from Tehran, Iran. Currently, I’m studying for my bachelors of painting at Rome Academy of Fine Arts. Moreover, I’ve been teaching drawing for almost 8 years at different art institutes. My artistic journey started when I was 13. I had the opportunity to learn drawing and anatomy with a renowned Iranian artist. My passion for Renaissance and Italian figure art grew when I became familiar with the old masters like Da Vinci and Michelangelo. I decided to take them as role models in my life and follow their path, searching for truth and beauty in the Cosmos. I arrived in Rome in September 2021, and then something unexpected happened to me. One day I visited the church of Santa Maria della Vittoria and met a kind priest, Fr. Angelo Campana. He explained the Cornaro chapel where the Ecstasy of Saint Teresa is sculpted and offered me a place to work as my own studio. Together, we developed various projects during Christmas and other festivities. Since then, I’ve been working and creating ideas and concepts trying to explore poetic possibilities to communicate to the world.

At the Pneuma Foundation, we want to inspire people and help them to aspire for beauty. My contribution as an Artist and instructor is to share my knowledge and perception, guiding others to cultivate their passion for art and beauty. We have the opportunity to collaborate with other incredible artists and create a fruitful dialogue within different art disciplines, namely classical art and Virtual Reality, which is a novel phenomenon.
