Art is a language. And searching for ways to speak it, is everything to me. Searching for the right expression, gesture, or design are such profound ingredients in composition that often keep me up at night.

Growing up my grandfather would tell my brother and I incredible stories; Viking sagas, Norwegian folklore, world history, his trips into the mountains and across the world. He was a very good speaker and an inspirational storyteller. I believe he instilled in me a deep passion to tell my own stories, to go out into the world and search for them on my own. However, speaking has never been my specialty, and therefore, my mission as an artist is to discover my own language. With paint and knowledge of composition I wish to explore different cultures, philosophy, the past, and my relationship to it all. I tend to speak quite monotone but color and brushstrokes allow me to tell a more vibrant story.
